All Summer Long

Fresh cut grass, lightning bugs, family, friends, summer camp, hanging out, Soulard, The Purse Place. That is what summer is all about. I'm finally home and life just feels happy. However, I feel as if this is the ending of an era. Next year I will start teaching full time at Sunset View Elementary in Provo. No more classes, homework, tests, or things like that. Instead there will be grading, assigning homework, going to school, and worrying about my students. It's time to grow up, and sometimes I just don't feel ready.

But until its time to start teaching the kiddos, I'm going to have a summer of epicness. Day camp starts soon and I can already tell it's going to be a blast. One day, this will all be in the past but for now it is time to be a kid for just a bit longer. Planning camps, staying up all night, and not having too many cares.

Now nothing seems as strange as
When the leaves began to change
Or how we thought those days would never end
Sometimes I hear that song and I'll start to sing along
And think, man, I'd love to see that girl again

And we were trying different things and we were smoking funny things
Making love out by the lake to our favorite song
Sipping whiskey out the bottle, not thinkin' about tomorrow
Singing 'Sweet Home Alabama' all summer long
